What to bring and not to bring
Are you Upgrading?
Bring a copy of your current valid FCC license. If you don’t have this, log into the FCC to obtain an ‘official’ copy of your license. Please bring a printed copy with you.

Bring an FRN
You must have an FRN to test. This is a 10 digit number given to you by the FCC. If you have a GMRS license you already have an FRN. If not, contact the FCC and register before you take the test.
Prepare to fill out Form 605
The FCC will want to know some information about you for the test. Be prepared to fill out the FCC form 605.
Bring Identification
Bring two forms of Identification, one being a photo ID.
Bring Payment
Please bring $15 for the test fee. This is sent to the ARRL for processing. Exact change is appreciated. If you need to take the test more than once, the $15 fee applies to each attempt. If you pass one license and wish to take the next level, the subsequent test fee is at no charge.
Younger than 18, the fee is $5.
Recommend a Basic Calculator
Some of the questions require math and a calculator will help. However it must be a basic calculator and you cannot use your phone’s calculator.
